Department of Sociology
The Department of Sociology was established in 1960 by Dr. Vilas Sangave. From the very beginning strength of the student was ever increasing for graduate and post graduate classes.
The founder and first Head of the department was Dr.Vilas Sangave who worked the Hea up to 1975. Gurunath Nadgonde, K.B.Wadekar an N.K. Lad worked as his colleagues in the department.
The second Head of the department of Sociology was Shri.N.K.Lad as Head from 1975 to 30th June 2002 and since first July 2002 Dr. G.M.Chonde has been working as Head of the department of Sociology. Miss. Rupasi Das worked as Lecturer in Sociology from 2nd Sept. to 30 Apr.2003. From 2010 to 30th April 2015 Mrs. A.B. Gaikwad was worked as a Head in department of Sociology. 2015 to 2017 Mr. S.K.Mahajan was worked as a Head in department of Sociology. 2018 to 2020-21 Miss. V.M.Ingole worked as Head in department of Sociology. From 2021-22 to due date Mr. S.K.Mahajan is working as Head in Department of Sociology.
